MONDAY 09 MARCH 2020, 19:30

Deal's Tide Walk is timed for a very special event; a supermoon rising over the Channel.

A 'Supermoon' is a rare astronomical event that occurs when the moon is in line with the earth at exactly the same time it is closest to us in its elliptical orbit. The effect is "Super Tides', technically named Perigean Spring Tides, which you will learn all about on the walk.

The walk will start at the Fisherman Sculpture at the entrance to Deal Pier and we will leave at exactly 19:30; if you are running late you can call us on 07477 676 276 and organise to catch up with the group. We will end at the same location, at 21:00.

We will be walking on mixed terrain, including the beach, so please bring appropriate footwear. The walk will take place in all weathers, so please bring appropriate clothing; for a forecast we recommend the Met Office
